The Bayern Munich striker gave his team the lead against Bayer Leverkusen on seven minutes before Joshua Kimmich added a second goal for the hosts five minutes later. The two goals proved to be more than enough for Bayern to open a ten-point lead at the Bundesliga summit.

The win over Leverkusen means that the Bavarian giants need just one more win to secure a ninth successive league title.Victory at Mainz 05 at the weekend will secure the league title for Bayern Munich.

With his goal against Leverkusen on Tuesday, Cameroon international Choupo-Moting has now scored in three successive games in all competitions for the first time since achieving the feat while he was at Mainz 05 in 2014.

Choupo-Motingstarted the run when he scored the only goal of the game for Bayern Munich against French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) in the Champions League round of eight tie second leg clash between the two clubs. His goal was not enough to see Bayern through to the semi-finals as they were eliminated via the away goals rule. The Bavarian giants lost the first leg 3-2 at home and that proved to be the reason behind their exit. For eliminating defending champions Bayern, PSG will now face Premier League table toppers Manchester City in the semis.

Cameroon international player Choupo-Moting also scored in the next game after the abovementioned PSG encounter. He was on target in the 3-2 away win over VFL Wolfsburg in the German Bundesliga at the weekend. The Bayern striker scored in the PSG, VFL Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen games in the absence of the injured Robert Lewandowski whom he replaced in the Bayern starting XI.

While he was at Mainz 05, Choupo-Moting scored in three straight games in 2014. The Cameroon player scored against Bayer Leverkusen, Hertha Berlin and TSG Hoffenheim.
