Championship club Stoke City have confirmed that they have tied down Cameron goalkeeper Blondy Nna Noukeu to a new long-term deal amid reports that he may be linking up with the first-team anytime soon at a later time this season. The brilliant keeper has been a mainstay of the club’s under-23 team this season and keeps putting in impressive performances that have earned him a lot of accolades and praises so far this term.

He has also earned himself a new contract and has signed on the dotted lines and will be looking to take his career to a new level since joining Stoke from Belgian league club Royal Excel Mouscron back in the summer transfer window of 2019. The 19-year-old was promoted to the first-team this season and has made it to the bench on several occasions. He however faces the huge task of competing with Joe Bursik and Adam Davies for the gloves at the club.

In what is already looking like a breakthrough campaign for Noukeu, he was earlier called up and asked to team up with the Cameroon national team and he is already looking like he will continue in that upward trajectory.

Stoke City manager O’Neill revealed after the deal was signed that he is very happy with the progress Blondy (Noukeu) has made so far this season and that he deserved the new deal. The manager said that the young goalkeeper is already amazing at such a young age and is on his way to the top as long as he continues to maintain his current pace.

O’Neill then advised the teenage shot-stopper to remain calm and wait for his time which will eventually come at the club. With Noukeu’s help, Stoke have been able to secure five straight wins on the bounce and are challenging for Premier League 2 promotion.
