The 2021 African Cup of Nations is expected to be held in Cameroun after the country was stripped of hosting the 2019 tournament. This according to the regional body CAF was as a result of non-completion of facilities ahead of time.

This setback has seen Cameroun move towards ensuring that the facilities would be ready before the next CAF inspection. Some weeks back the Minister in Charge of the construction works Ibrahim Talba  Malla visited one of the major Stadium for the tournament named the Olembe Stadium.

Cameroon are set to host Confederation of African Football (CAF) officials ahead of the expanded 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. The long awaited inspection is to ascertain the level of preparedness of the hosts. The inspection team is reportedly set to arrive on January 11 after the last visit was cancelled.

PriceWaterhouseCoopers withdrew from the last visit on short notice without giving reasons but new consultants Roland Berger are expected to meet the new schedule so it does not affect the timeline for the next AFCON.
