Clarence Seedorf The New Coach For Cameroon

Cameroon recently made an announcement on the appointment this summer for the new head coach to be Clarence Seedorf. Well, the choice of one of the high-profile names did catch the attention of everyone. It seemed like a glamour choice which put Cameroon in the limelight. Seedorf would be guided by his fellow Patrick Kluivert, the former Dutch International. When the fortune of Cameroon was stuck as it failed to achieve the World Cup last season, the appointment of the duo did appear to bring things under control. Cameroon has achieved several Cup of Nations titles and the Olympic gold medal in 2000 Sydney in addition to 1990 World Cup quarter finals. This national team has mostly been at the forefront as far as Asian football is concerned.

Seedorf believes in his players

New Cameroon coach Clarence Seedorf believes that his team will improve in the next games. He was speaking after the match that saw his team draws against lowly Comoros. He said that he was pleased with his players as they have done everything they can in the game. Clarence Seedorf said that there is still a lot of work to be done and that the objective of the team is to make it to the next African Cup of Nations as well as the World Cup in Qatar. He said that a big nation as Cameroon should always be present in the big competition and this is what he wants to achieve with the team.

Cameroon Appoints A New Coach

Clarence Seedorf, the ex Dutch international midfielder has been appointed as Cameroon’s new coach in addition to Patrick Kluivert, who would assist Seedorf who has already been his teammate before. Pierre Ismael Bidoung Mkpatt, the Minister of Sport & Education of Cameroon made the announcement in a news conference. There were talks about Sven-Goran Eriksson; the ex-England manager could not get to an agreement. Seedorf is all set to take over from Hugo Broos, the Belgian who was leading the side for a win at African Nations Cup finals in 2017. However, he failed to achieve victory during the World Cup in Russia. Since then, Alexandre Belinga is the caretaker coach. The Nations Cup title will be defended by Cameroon in their home soil next year, which would be the debut major final test for the new team.
