Cameroon international shot stopper Andre Onana was on the bench for the entire duration of the Italian Serie A game between Inter Milan and Lazio. Onana and his Inter Milan teammates were guests of Lazio in a big game as far as Italian top flight football is concerned. Cameroon goalkeeper Onana has played second fiddle to club skipper Samir Handanovic in the Inter Milan goal since his arrival as a free agent this summer. The Cameroon international signed for the Nerazzuri after his contract with Dutch champions Ajax Amsterdam ended in June. Onana has been benched for the first three Italian Serie A games this season with manager Simone Inzaghi opting to start veteran shot stopper Handanovic ahead of him. He's seen as the long-term replacement for retired Slovenian international shot stopper Handanovic.

Premier League giants Arsenal have been boosted with the news that Ajax Amsterdam goalkeeper Andre Onana has turned down a transfer to French side Lyon this summer. The Cameroon national team shot stopper rejected the move to Lyon with the belief that a big club such as Arsenal or Italian champions Inter Milan awaits. [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1200"][/caption] Cameroon goalkeeper Onana is under a ban at the moment and he won't be available until November.Onanawas banned after he mistakenly used furosemide. The Ajax Amsterdam shot stopper was initially banned for a year but that was reduced upon appeal.

North London giants Arsenal reportedly promised Ajax Amsterdam shot stopper Andre Onana a first team berth if he moves to the club this summer. This is according to the report from media portal NOS which stated that the Gunners want the Cameroon shot stopper to replace German international Bernd Leno at the club. [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1024"][/caption] There are doubts over the future of Leno at Arsenal with reports claiming that the former Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper wants to leave the Gunners this summer in search of European football. Arsenal didn't qualify for Europe this season after finishing in a disappointing eighth position on the Premier League log at the end of last season.
