There have been several reports that Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o had decided to quit the Cameroon national team yet again after falling out with manager Volker Finke. However, Finke has said that he expects the 32-year-old to continue playing for the African giants.

Cameroon are in the play-off to qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2014. Eto’o is regarded as one of the best strikers of his generation, and he will be a major threat towards any opposition that Cameroon might face in the play-offs. Cameroon recently managed to qualify for the play-offs following a 1-0 win over Libya.

It was quoted in the French tabloid L’Equipe that Eto’o was set to retire for the second time. It is understood that he had a quarrel with the manager. He did not to the latest press conference as well. The former Barcelona and Inter Milan striker recently sealed a free transfer to Chelsea and he had signed a one-year contract with the Premier league outfit. This move has reunited him with José Mourinho, with whom he won the treble at Inter Milan in 2010. Chelsea had enormous success with African striker Didier Drogba, and they are looking to replicate the success with the 32-year-old.

It looks like he will not be part of the play-offs that will take place shortly.

“Samuel Eto’o is a great player. He is the only one able to explain his choices. He alone knows his decision. He has given so much to football and Cameroon that he is only person able to explain his decision,” said the Cameroon manager. After a run of very bad results and a lot of political problems, Cameroon have managed to turn the corner in recent matches. They are undefeated in the last five matches and could be set for the World Cup 2014.
