Villarreal are considering a bid for Manchester United defender Eric Bailly. According to reports from reports from Spain, the Yellow Submarines have identified the Ivorian as a potential signing in the summer.

Bailly is considered as a safe signing with the 26-year-old making his name at the club before making a big-money move in the summer of 2016. Since moving to Manchester United, Bailly has struggled with injuries and fitness issues but is still loved by the fans. He has endured an injury hit stint. He has failed to nail down a regular first team shirt at Old Trafford. He only returned to first team action before football was suspended in England in the second week of March.

It is understood that the Yellow submarines are on the lookout for a top defender as a replacement for veteran defender Raul Albiol. Bailly has excellent pace, strong aerially and understands the passing football favoured at the El Madrigal outfit.

Manchester United still value Bailly highly with the Old Trafford outfit setting a transfer fee of £15 million for his services. A transfer to Spain could be what the sturdy defender needs if he is to recapture his earlier form.

It would be interesting to see how this develops in the coming weeks as other clubs have also indicated an interest in the defender.
Manchester United coach Michael Carrick refused to reveal much about the future of the Ivorian international. The former Manchester United midfielder stated that Bailly still has a big part to play in Manchester. He revealed that the coaching crew has faith in the player and they will do all they can to hold onto the players.

Bailey joined United in 2016, he has suffered with injury and fitness issues since, but he is loved by the Old Trafford faithful.
